With new year resolutions being incomplete without placing self-promises of reading ‘x’ number of books, we thought of enabling you to set up a small group of like-minded folks to discuss the same (while you’re still excited about your new year goals lol).
This community you create, would itself be responsible to help you complete your yearly reading goals! You don’t need 100s of people to join you - but just even a small number like 3 would be enough to start off with. The more niche and like-minded folks you have, the stronger the community will be.
We can guarantee you, if you’re even remotely consistent, your community will grow miles, even spread across nations if you aim to! In this issue, we help you find amazing readers to jam with whilst completing reading goals, together.
BioScope Thursdays
Every Thursday, 9 PM, we will be screening some interesting short films/videos/talks, across the world, especially book adapted ones!
One can even join discussions on the same once the movie is done! Join us to have some fun night out along with intellectual talks with fellow readers 😉
We will be screening a TED Talk - The moral roots of liberals and conservatives - Jonathan Haidt
Psychologist Jonathan Haidt studies the five moral values that form the basis of our political choices, whether we're left, right or centre. In this eye-opening talk, he pinpoints the moral values that liberals and conservatives tend to honour most. Jonathan Haidt studies how -- and why -- we evolved to be moral. By understanding more about our moral roots, his hope is that we can learn to be civil and open-minded.
